How do I compress an image to 200KB?
Choose one image, crop only unnecessary background, keep the 200 KB target selected, and export JPEG. LensUp works toward the limit on a best-effort basis and reports the actual saved file size, because some detailed images cannot reach 200 KB without becoming unusable.
A file-size limit does not prove that the photograph has the correct pixel dimensions, aspect ratio, background or content. Read the upload field and official instructions first, then compare the exported JPEG with the source before submitting it.

How to prepare the file
- Choose one clear imageOpen a JPEG, PNG or WebP file. Keep the complete face, signature, document edge or other required content, and remove only background that the destination portal does not need.
- Keep 200 KB selected and review the previewUse colour, grayscale or black-and-white only when the instructions allow it. Crop or rotate if necessary, then zoom in to check text, facial detail and edges before compression.

Why an image may not reach exactly 200 KB
Encoded size depends on pixel count, texture, noise, colour and source format. A clean portrait against a plain wall usually compresses more efficiently than patterned clothing, foliage or a photographed document with fine print.
LensUp adjusts JPEG quality and, when necessary, image dimensions while protecting a usable result. It does not add bytes to make a small image exactly 200 KB, and it does not promise that an extremely detailed source will finish below the limit.
